Jimboomba falls under Logan City Council, and the rules here are genuinely more relaxed than neighbouring areas, but they still apply. A native tree generally needs approval before removal if it's over 4 metres tall or has a trunk wider than 31.5 centimetres around (measured 1.3 metres up). Lots under 5,000m² sitting outside a mapped protection overlay are usually exempt from needing approval at all, and there are separate exemptions for clearing within 10 metres of a house for fire safety, within 5 metres of a shed or carport, or for declared pest species like Camphor Laurel.
